The students have worked diligently for a year and are finally getting their diplomas. There is no way to describe their excitement. Just the fact that 96 Maasai students, from deep in the village, have done something many of us never try to do or if we have, we have taken it for granted. We are watching a nation of people change before our very eyes.
It may look like we have sent you the second picture twice but they are different. The “New Rescue Center ” was used as a staging area for the students. Can you count 96 students there?
The lady in the bottom left in picture two, in white, actually came to Tanzania and walked with the students there. She is a government employee that had looked for a school to attend but found them so expensive that she had come home with no hope of ever being able to study Biblical Theology. She had told me that ISOM had been brought here just for her, now she is graduating.
A little bit different look at the graduates as they walked, we walked behind them. I see it as prophetic, “We are coming behind them, launching them into their destinies.”
All 96 students were in the school choir. Ol’Gululuis’ trademark is the ISOM song which was written by the 1st years’ class. Now it is sung every year as a tribute to those they have studied under.
All Maasai women are known for their beautiful beadwork. This student has the most unusual we have seen.
We had Government Officials, Professors and Bishops speak at both graduations. Some of the same people were at both, and spoke of significant changes already in place, that will have impact on the future of all Churches and Bible Schools in East Africa. These changes are already taking place in other countries in Africa. We will soon be giving you more information on them.
The man on Domenic’s right was an elder in Domenic’s church when we first spoke there in about 2000 and remembers us well. The other man and his wife are the liaison between the government and all of us, for all of Kenya.
Our last picture is just for fun, “The Three Doctors.”
Again we are waiting for more pictures, will send them as they come. There really isn’t anything that compares to a move of God like this!!!
Serving in the Bush, Bush of East Africa…
