God had told us a couple of years ago that He was going to do a “New Thing…” It has been far reaching and we are seeing it here in M’Takooja too. Several years ago we had started taking girls, that excelled in the Technical School, and moving them on into the Bible School. Now we are moving 100% of them into the Bible School. The majority graduating this year are those girls.
The government is now requiring technical training to go along with Biblical Theology. They feel that a pastor should be able to support himself because most small churches are not financially able to support a pastor. Domenic has already begun implementing this in Kenya. The training of our girls is covering this requirement for us here in Tanzania. This is not a suggestion but now a requirement to be registered with the government in both countries.
The gentleman in the second picture, in the dark suit, is a government official who is the head of education in this region. He showed up because he knew we were having a graduation and asked to speak. He said, “They know who we are, Where we are, and What we do.” He came to encourage us in our registration process. They are extremely pleased with what we are doing. He said we are making a huge impact throughout the region. Crime rates are down, and businesses are looking better, things are better in general all over. They feel we are responsible for the positive changes they are seeing. They want to be able to hire our graduates in the future, and place them in key areas to bring further change. He was very positive and encouraging.
More to come. We wanted to get this much to you before we leave tomorrow to have the graduation in Ol’Gulului.
All we can say is WOW!!!
